The former lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu has resigned on Wednesday. On the following day, Thursday onwards President of India Ramnath Kovind has appointed former union minister Manoj Sinha as the next Lieutenant governor of J&K. President has approved Girish Chandra’s resignation letter on Thursday. According to the sources he is likely to be the next Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
“The President has been pleased to appoint Shri Manoj Sinha, to be the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office vice Shri Girish Chandra Murmu.” A press from president office sated.
The aim to appoint Manoj Sinha as Lieutenant Governor
Girish Chandra had been in power for significantly nine months, however, he could not reach out to the hearts of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with a soft political touch. It is estimated that the move to appoint Manoj Sinha as a new lieutenant governor of the union territory is to achieve all those goals that Murmu could not get.
According to the NDA government, Manoj Sinha brings some critical political views, simultaneously he shows the ability to connect with people. In the hot weather of union territory, is crucial for a leader to connect with people with a soft hand.
The former lieutenant governor of union territory Girish Chandra Murmu has worked with Narendra Modi when he was the chief minister of Gujarat, afterward, he joined union territory.
Who is Manoj Sinha?
Currently, Manoj Sinha is the telecom minister and member of 16th Lok sabha, he represents Gazipur Lok sabha constituency from BJP.
Manoj Sinha is known as “ Vikas Purush” of Gazipur for successfully conquering his first Lok Sabha polls in 1998, from Gazipur constituency.
61 years old Manoj Sinha has covered significant years of his life in politics. Manoj Sinha is said to be an alumnus of IIT-BHU. He has completed his B.Tech and M.Tech from Banaras Hindu University, where he had been the president of Banaras Hindu University’s student union.
Three times he has represented Utter Pradesh’s Ghazipur constituency as an MP.
